Midnight at the Savoy, Complex Mold, DOHM, Last Six Days
First up was Midnight at the Savoy. It was their second appearance at Verlie's and they sounded better than ever. Don't miss Midnight at the Savoy when they return to headline a homegrown show on December 27th. Next up was Complex Mold. A very unique band with a sax player who also played a little flute. A little funk, a little hardcore, a little ska, a little jazz, a little punk, a real melding of styles. Next up was DOHM. With bass player Lavante back, they played an instrumental set, and debuted some new material. I love DOHM in any form. You gotta come check them out before they get too big. Finally Last Six Days finished off the night. Even though they were wounded, and missing some members, they put on a great show anyway. Here's what you said:
- Come to Verlie's for a front row seat to some of Clevelands best bands - Joey D
- This band (DOHM) has moved my old soul to a new sense of faith in the music of today. i don't know what tomorrow may bring, but faith has never let me down, and my optimism is reinforced by this right here - Declan

- Verlie's is a cool venue that features a great diversity of music - Michael Perez
- Always love playing @ Verlie's. let's rock always! You guys are sweet n stuff. So fuckin rock on! peace - Croz

We had a special guest opening the night last night: the Infantry from
Raleigh, NC. The crowd was a little light so they played an acoustic set with a little piano and harmonica thrown in as well. They were rock n roll, with a lttle bit of Dylan/Springsteen flavor. We followed up with the Sunday night jams. Thanks to all the jammers: Little Brian, John, Jeremy, Josey, Keith, Chuck, Walt, Buddy, Steve, and Roelondo. Here's what you said:

Smiley Baldazar, Glue
Opening the night was Glue, featuring Tracy Marie on vocals, Chuck on guitar, and Sean and Burns from the Whammer Jammers on drums and bass. They had a funky kind of sound that was eerie at times. Headlining the show was Smiley Baldazar. If you're looking for somethng different, you've got to check them out. Reminiscent of Zappa and the Tubes, Smiley is not your run of the mill rock band. Here's what you said:
- Smiley Baldazar were jammin their asses off - Zazu Pitts

- So what does that make you?...an expert beer pourer or something? NOT! - K1
- Verlie's...first thought...maybe I better not order a mosito here! A classic shot and beer joint from before prohibition, that still serves fishbowls! The dark paneling makes me feel very comfortable, and the Zappa on the jukebox is a sure sign of hipness! The changing of the seasons somehow makes this place as good to walk into as my cable-knit sweater feel to pull on after a season of storage! Somehow bright lights and ferns would never survive here, but the last sweet signs of summer can be left behind with the ferns, the lights, and the yuppies as the fishbowls prepare for winter! - Dr. Dragonfly
- Twas a fun and fruitful evening! Glue kicken major ass...and we got to play pretty much every tune we have. Thanks to the Verlie's crew and crowd for such a good time! - Mike Jacobs

Eymarel is a unique duo from N. Carolina. With Mary Francis on keyboards and vocals, and Lee on drums, they put on one hell of a show. It was a kewl combination of jazz, funk, rock, and spoken word.

Cleveland Homegrown with Dirt, The Square Casanovas, Lost State of Franklin
First up was Kurt "Dirt" Curtis. He did a short acoustic set. Next up was The Square Casanovas, formerly the Derek Deprator band. They are an awesome band, and really hard to classify. THe general consensus was punk-a-billy. Finally Lost State of Franklin finished off the night. Even though it's only been a couple of weeks since they played it is always a pleasure to have them. I'm very tired and happy...we're busy as hell this week doing shows the next 2 nights after this as well. I used to have to get the bus everywhere and I know I've been buy here a bunch of times on the bus before I got a car. Would have never guessed it would be this good a time. Thanx Vickie and all @ Verlie's. Rawk on - Derek Deprator
