It was our first show with Jennifer from Starloft, and hopefully it wont be the last. 1st up The Cleveland Country Band got the party going. They were a tight 6 piece with nice harmonies. Second was the headliner Lost State of Franklin. What an awesome surprize, not your run of the mill country band. They were some serious pickers. With a cool upright bass, mandolin, and some trumpet too. Finally finishing off the night was Derek Deprator. He was like a slide playing Lou Reed in drag. He brought along a trio, and played some banjo as well. All in all a really diverse and fun night. Here's what you said:

acoustic Jams singer/songwriter night
Last nights hosts were Jack Charlton and Becky Boyd. A good friend to us all Hank (or Hanky Panky as I called him) passed away on Tuesday. It kind of turned into a party for Hank, and we decided to dedicate the blog to him. Hank was a fan of the blog he read it every day, and wrote in it. If you search through the archives you can find his comments signed HJC or just plain Hank. In fact it was because of him that we started this blog. He would always tell me "you gotta tell em what they missed the night before", and so it goes. Hank was even more of a fan of the jams. Not only at our bar but all over town. I'm sure you've seen him dancing "the Hank" at any number of local music spots. Hank was old school. He reminded me of so many people I knew groing up who came in Verlie's that are no longer with us. He danced to the beat of his own drummer, and lived life to the fullest. I'm gonna miss him. If you weren't there last night , you can visit the obit page of the PD, and leave your comment in the guest book. Hank I will also link back to here in my comment.
