Cleveland Homegrown with The Morning After and Lake Effects
The Morning After another awesome band from right here in Cleveland. They were a good mix of classic rock and modern music. The band was tight with some tasty changes, and catchy licks. Look for the the return of the Morning After this fall. Finishing off the night was the Lake Effects. They started their set minus a bass player but it still sounded good. Later the guitarists were trading off playing bass and guitar. By the end of the night the crowd was screaming for more, so they whipped out some covers to everyone's satifaction. Here's what you said:
- Verlie's rocks out! I had a great time, good music, great people! Rock on
- Verlie's Cafe rocked my balls off!! Oh yeah!
- Lake Effects is the shit! If they are playing, I'm drinkin!
- Straight out of the heart of Cleveland, we are the Lake Effects. Verlie's Cafe was kind enough to let us rock the block on W. 46th and Storer. We mix classic rock with modern indie to create the magic of music. We've been together for 2 years on the label Ontap records which is also based in Cleveland. THey say the heart of rock and roll is in Cleveland, and from what I've seen I believe em. thank you
- To all whom it may concern, we were jammin at the spot, Verlie's - us
- On July 19th my band "the morning after" at Verlie's. The experience was a great one. The way we were treated was fair and exceded our expectations, unlike some other venues we've played - Ryan
- I never really heard of Verlie's before I played here, except from my friends' crazy stepdad Joey, who is a huge metal head. I was a little intimidated at first, thinking it was a metal club. i was very surprised to find that the people here are amazing. Vickie and Libby welcomed the Morning After with open arms and treated us like family. That's something we have never experienced at other clubs. I would play here any day of the week. Besides, they have Pabst tall boys, who doesn't like those. Thank you Vickie and Verlie's, you have made my work week - Jake

- As I sat on some real nice high back chairs, I felt "at home" Listening to some bluesy tunes. Smile on the bartender's face, and the owner Vickie celebrates her guests visit with a free jello shot. I'm home at last - Linda L
- Hey, Hey, with the Verlie's, let's all hang out, love ya all, thanks for jamin all night long - me

Cleveland Homegrown with Chase the Tale, and Jeff James
I am constantly blown away by the talent we have here in Cleveland, and last night was no exception. The little blurbs you hear on these websites don't even come close to capturing the essence of the bands that are out there. Nothing comes close to live music, come and see for yourself.
- Verlie's is a good place for much needed local band exposure. We need more of this - AKA Sue
- Welcome to the Roadhouse at Verlie's...open up your mind and set it free...open up everything...open the show...Homegrown again...hometown Bar on 46th..bring your axe and pick - The Gothfather
- THere's nothing better than a big old hit of Cleveland Homegrown - Cheech
- Chase the Tale was way cool, Jeff James too - Claire
- Verlie's is great. Imet great people and Chase the Tale rocked as usual! Drink prices were great and the atmosphere was even better! I will be returning to Verlie's (with all my friends) very soon! P.S. Libby is an awesome bartender! - Billie
- CLeveland Homegrown at Verlie's is awesome. I like to step off of planet "Cover-song", and try things that have never been done. THat's the real test of an artist or band, making their own statement musically - Jeremy
- Verlie's felt like home. For a Cleveland bar, they were very accepting of original music. We had a good crowd and had a great time. Out of all of the Cleveland venues that we've played, Verlie's is the best time we've had in a while - Joe Weirdo
- What can I say about Verlie's...the atmosphere here is very acepting to live music and they really care about building the Cleveland music scene back up...If you are in a band then you must play this venue. If you are a fan of local music then you must visit this most excellent place - Joe, Chase the Tale

Jam Night
Sunday, Sunday, Sunday, THe end of a long week with some hot jams. THanks to the jammers: Eugene, Josey, Craig, John, Corinne, Roelondo, and Jeremy. Here's what you said:
- Verlie's Cafe is where Rock N Roll resides, not just survives, but thrives. As real as meat and potatoes, hard as steel, the real deal - Mick
- I come to Verlie's because it's cool...I come on Sundays because Jason Burns makes me all tingly!...:-) - Corinne
- Eugene always shows up and steals the show every week - Burns
- The Luck they say comes in threes, been there and then some. The Luck I have is with my friends and the friends that watch from here and from above - Neon Craig
- Eugene marches to the beat of his own drummer...Evan - Sista B
- And then in the end we all ride toward the sky. Home to that place somewhere in space. Where we know the seeds we sow, will grow, row by row, high and low. Beyond that certain date. Still searching forever for that mate to vibrate @ our rate.
- The radar sir...it's been jammed. Mmmm rasberry...there's only one bar that would dare give me the rasberry...Verlie's - Jeremy
- This was a great night here at Verlie's, and the best waap off my second triple-header. i walked in tired and just wanted to watch and listen, but when i thought I was safe, the mood pulled me back in. Rock on Verlie's - Grasshoppa

Ohm + Earth to Julie
Ohm, one of my favorite bands hailing from Yougstown. They pulled out something a little different this time, and played unplugged. It was really cool and different. Ohm is a truley original band. Earth to Julie finished off the night. This power pop trio brings on the energy everytime they play. Here's what you said:
- Ohm was off the hook tonight. I really wish they had the whole night @ Verlie's. Once again we had a great night. Bring her fine ass back - Jill
- So far Verlie's has been the most fun venue to play in Cleveland. The staff is awesome, and the patrons are real receptive to just about any type of music. Thats good and nice - Rob earth to Julie
- Hey we had a fun time playing at Verlie's as usual. Sorry we weren't full sound with out our minister of bass. We enjoy playing acoustic and we like playing up here in Cleveland at Verlie's. We'll hopefully play plugged in and rocked out again one day
- I don't like penguins either dude - Emo Williams
- THis being my 2nd time at Verlie's, I can't claim to be completely familiar with it. However, both times the atmosphere has been great, the people have been nice, and the music's been good. Ohm played a beautiful acoustic set, and Earth to Julie was upbeat and cheering. Overall a worthwhile experience. - K
- I was danciing with myself on the back porch with my record player - the Russian
- Vickie, more sage - Mike
- She blew smoke directly into my face and that was that. Suffering the tin-mouth of mexican beer (barely imported) and the run from half a dozen federal agencies. I came damn close to vomiting on the back of my tounge when the band started warming up. Her hair was dark and my stomach was empty, rimshots from the drums, like buckshot ricocheting in my gut. She blew smoke in my face again and I decided to order something domestic, government cadillacs climbing the nearest off ramp - bandana dude
- The kids are alright - Pete Townshend

- If there was you and there was me, what would you want me to be - Poop
- Why can't we let the music do the talking all the time? Can I git a Amen - A Redhead
- Just a little spoon Verlie's precious jams was good enough for me tonight. It's tough to be a guitar whore, but this corner ( W 46th & Storer) always has action - Grasshoppa
- Verlie's Rocks, best place west of Hiram - Chris
- Rock on Verlie's - John
- 3rd night in a row I'm playin somewhere, and i should be sleeping, but how many times have I said that this week? One one thousand - the Germ
