Smiley Baldazar + CC Jr
What a night, what a crowd, what a show. Special thanks to Barb and Mandee from Exciting City Magazine for featuring the band on the cover this week. Also thanks to CC JR for opening the show. They delivered a high energy politically inspired first set. Smiley Baldazar is one of my favorite local bands, and it's not just because Burns is our Sunday Jam Band bassist, they rocked. I haven't heard them in a while, and they have come a long way with cool licks and great harmonies. THis funky Zappaesque band put on a great show. Here's what you said:

- The Guinth says - Smiley Baldazar rules
- What a night! I've seen Smiley Baldazar 3 or 4 times now, and each time, their show rocks a little harder and the boys are a little tighter. I sure hope everyone got their Smiley gear autographed... 'cause their dedication to their craft may soon take them away from us to bigger and better things. But until then I hope they make it back to our little slice of heaven (music heaven, corner of 46th & Storer, that is). They sure brought a good crowd with them! - Sleepy
- My Hats of to Verlie's Cafe on this Saturday Night, wow - PR Joe
- Does marijuanna affect the central nervous system - BB
- Sharp Zappa sounds, plus the ever flowing Greatful Dead = Smiley Baldazar! Awesome crowd! Killer originals! Thanx for the experience - DM

Hate
Hailing from New Philadelphia, Hate made thier first appearance at Verlie's and this proved to be one of the best Metal nights yet. Thier brand of metal was the old school variety of in your face, high energy rock and roll. - Well I have to say that the band Hate is the best band Verlie's has had on Wednesdays. And if you weren't thier you really missed it. - Lola
- Hate was awesome. Can anyone say Power Trio? Verlie's, you've done it again. Get these guys back again. - Jeremy
- Anytime you go to 46th and Storer, there are friends, all are welcome. Anybody that's real and wants to be noticed come on in. -Jayone
- Hate rocked Verlie's. Luv thier purple drums. - Bambi
- The Puritans are taking over !!! - Sista Batryl
