From Beginning to End, Rukus & the Trousers, The Gothfather, Drone Machine

From Beginning to End from Illinois opened the show. Even with some screamo vocals thrown in, they were still pleasing to the ear. Next up was Rukus and the Trousers from PA. They had a modern pop/rock sound. With great vocals, I could hear hints of 60's British Invasion. Next was the return of The Gothfather, Jeff James. He played solo, and get's better every time he's there. Finally, the return of the drone machine. It was just that, one long drone, or non-stop jam. THere were some cool moments none the less. Here's what you said:

  • I haven't seen a Gretch guitar live and playing anywhere but Verlie's, let alove a silver sparkly one. I'm feelin' splivvy on the sparkly vibe! - Splivvy

Next our old buddies Glue kept the funky groove going with their original set. The boys from Mayberry finished the night with some rock covers. These guys are just partying and jammin out to songs they love and their enthusiasm is contageous. here's what you said:

Glue mixed originals and covers, mostly original. I look forward to checking out these bands again for sure - S

Allegory, Dead Letter Room, The Jakeway, The Drone Machine

First up was Allegory. They were kinda folk/modern, with a female vocalist. Next up - Dead Letter Room. Our old friend David Kaye was joined this time by female drummer Sam, who added alot. As always DLR kicked ass. Jakeway was next. They had everyone going right out of the gate. By the second song, you couldn't see the band because people were dancing on the tables. I could hear hints of Elvis Costello, and Bowie. Finally the Drone Machine played. It was one long song (jam) including some of the members of the other bands. Definitely experimental, with lots of weird noises. Here's whta you said:

  • The band is so sexy. I love naked men wearing nothing but a "support Jakeway" sign! - Moriboi
  • The bar had good prices, and atmosphere. I like how they invite original bands to play
  • Once again Hank was surrounded by pretty girls dancing - Zazu Pitts
  • The Drone Machine sounded like the screaming Banshees...where's Hope? - Witchy Poo
  • Make sure every citizen keeps time. Make sure he/she knows how ro keep the love. Love balanced matter of fact the native way measures instances, not flaw.
